World Cup 1994 last 16 Romania – Argentina Argentina’s captain, Diego Armando Maradona, was suspended for this match because of drug use. Romania’s top goalscorer and main striker, Florin Raduciou, was also suspended because of yellow cards accumulation. With so much talent missing from this game, it was expected to be a dull match, but the 22 players that entered the field gave us the best match of that World Cup and a quality in play – from the first minute to the last – that is extremly rare. ROMANIA: 1 Florin Prunea 2 Dan Petrescu 4 Miodrag Belodedici 3 Daniel Prodan 14 Gheroghe Mihali 7 Dorinel Munteanu 6 Giga Popescu 5 Ionut Lupescu 13 Tibor Selymes 10 Gheorghe Hagi 11 Ilie Dumitrescu ARGENTINA: 12 L.
