South Africa parties before World Cup kickoff

Football fans in South Africa revelled in a long night of celebrations as the final hours ticked down before the kickoff of the World Cup 2010. The opening ceremony at Soccer City will mark the first time the tournament is held on the African continent. Al Jazeera’s Haru Mutasa reports. (June 11, 2010)

Spain beat Netherlands in the World Cup Final 2010 by scoring one goal in the 116th Minute of Extra time. Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and the Surrounding streets in London became party zones. People climbed the Eros Statue in Piccadilly Circus. A few people climbed on top of the Red Double Decker Buses on Haymarket Street. Thousands of people were in Trafalgar Square and hundreds were splashing around inside the two fountains. Prior to the win all London bars and clubs showing the football match were at full capacity. People were trying to watch the football match through the shop Windows. The Dutch fans were very upset to say the least. Spanish celebrations were going on everywhere.
